RPA Implementation: Equality Forum
The purpose of this group is to provide a forum for the exchange of information and expertise about the mainstreaming of equality, good relations, social need and human rights issues in the process of RPA implementation. It is an arena for:
- Identifying effective approaches to integrated/co-ordinated implementation of statutory duties;
- Identifying mechanisms for effective engagement with key stakeholders on equality, good relations, social need and human rights aspects of implementation.
Membership is drawn from senior departmental representatives closely involved in RPA implementation, the Equality Commission for Northern Ireland, the Community Relations Council, the Northern Ireland Commissioner for Children and Young People, the Northern Ireland Human Rights Commission and the Northern Ireland Committee Irish Congress of Trade Unions.
Progress/update
The group meets approximately bi-monthly and updates are provided, via the Chair, into the RPA Strategic Review Group
Summary of screening and EQIA outcomes - progress to date
Members of the Equality, Rights and Good Relations Forum have compiled a summary of screening and EQIA exercises undertaken so far in RPA implementation programmes across their departments. A list of these is attached. Contact details for lead officials responsible for the policies and the associated screenings/EQIA are provided - further information can be sought directly from these contacts.
This information will be updated regularly by relevant departments.
