Mapping the public sector
This section contains maps of the various organisations responsible for providing public services in Northern Ireland. They comprise two parts; (a) Departmental organisation charts, and (b) Service to the Citizen maps.
Departmental organisation charts
These charts represent all central government Departments and detail their funding and staffing figures for the latest financial year for which data is available, along with any executive agencies or NDPBs that are the responsibility of that Department. The charts also detail the financial and accountability arrangements between these bodies and their host Department.
Service to the citizen maps
These take the form of a series of maps grouped around particular service themes. Rather than being grouped by central government Departments, these themes represent a coherent grouping of services, for example, education, lifelong learning and employment. Reading from left to right, each map contains a list of services provided to the citizen, details the body or bodies responsible for delivering that service, lists other stakeholders in the service, and outlines how the service fits into the Programme for Government.
